Clay made it in your substack! I love that you wrote about your thought processes. I don’t ever seem to remember any of my thoughts! Also, I love Ann Lamott and just heard her speak. Keep writing- I’m ready for the beach!

I happened to read Jesus' Son a few weeks ago and was absolutely floored by it. What an amazing collection. Really cool to hear that it's meant a lot to you, too.

Hi Casey-

While I have admittedly not TOTALLY followed through with EVERYTHING in the book "The Artists Way" by Julia Cameron, it's been super helpful in fits and starts to get me writing or at least thinking as "A Creative." It's a fun book even if she gets a little loopy, like a, older L.A. based kooky aunt. I'm sure you've heard of the book but I can say it's helpful to get you started writing!

I work at a casino in Atlantic City. And yes they give away appliances to high rollers all the time. Crazy, but true.

Kurt Vonnegut once said, “When I write I feel like an armless legless man with a crayon in his mouth.” I figure if even HE felt that way, then perhaps there’s still hope for the rest of us.
